Tuning In

“Tuning in is the ability to neutralize the mind and become so still that the inner self can perceive the truth”
–Katrina Raphaell

If you are drawn to crystals but don’t know what to do with them, this is a good place to start. Tuning in to a crystal will show why you were drawn to that particular stone and tell you what to do with it. Practicing attunement with the crystals strengthens your ability to tune in to every moment and situation outside of your meditation space. When you are fully present, truth is crystal clear.

This is a combination of three different exercises I have mish-mashed into one because it works for me, and you should always feel free and blessed to modify anything you hear or learn so that it works for you. Especially when it comes to crystals.

Before you attempt to tune in, you want to get your mind as quiet as possible. So first you can spend some time meditating, practicing asanas, chanting, dancing, crocheting, whatever it is that you do to put the thoughts to sleep. When you’re ready, pick up your crystal and study it. Familiarize yourself with it visually, and then close your eyes. You can either hold it in your hand, place it on your third eye or heart chakra. Spend a few minutes just listening. Relax and don’t take the process too seriously.

Notice any emotions, words, sounds, images, or sensations that come through. These are messages from your higher self. Trust them. The crystal amplifies them so that you can hear them. If what you receive doesn’t make sense, don’t worry about it. Don’t try to make sense of it now. Simply allow it happen.

You can use this process to sort out confusing situations in your life. When you are studying the crystal, visualize the situation. See the people involved in the crystal. Allow yourself to feel the emotions that come with the situation as you watch it unfold in the crystal.

Breathe deeply during this part. It takes a bit of concentration, which is why meditation is a helpful practice. Now close your eyes and listen.

At this point, it’s best that you don’t analyze the information or feelings you receive. Right now, the most important thing is to remain present and you can’t do that if you analyze. When you’re finished then you can record any ideas or impressions in a notebook.

Don’t worry if nothing seems to happen. The situation will work itself out in different ways every time and it may never be immediate. You can have some very powerful experiences with the crystals if you are willing, faithful, playful and patient.

It’s important to remember that the crystals aren’t creating the message for you. Crystals are a tool in which you access your higher self. They help you retrieve the message, but they aren’t the message themselves. At some point, you may not need them anymore to do this. In the mean time, have fun!

Peace and blessings
